Position: Scientist –Assay Development Location: Cambridge Salary: Competitive
A growing Biotechnology company are currently looking to recruit a Scientist to join the assay development team for a 12 month FTC.

The Role As the Scientist within Assay Development you’ll be responsible for designing, developing and optimising in vitro biological assays and establishment of Standard operating procedures and protocols, and will be expected to be an ambassador for quality in analytical procedures. Key Responsibilities:

  • To lead experiments involving the development of controlled methods for pre-clinical analytics (e.g. PK assays), drug candidate characterisation and clinical release assays
  • To lead assay development projects involving cross-functional teams, independently design and execute project goals, plans and milestones in alignment with established programme strategy
  • To contribute a broad technical skill set as well as understanding of rigorous approach to assay development and maintenance, ensuring robust methods are available to span drug discovery and development processes
  • Ensure experiments and data management activities result in robust, quality data to inform decision making on projects
  • Carry out on-going analyses of data generated to identify issues and implement necessary changes.
  • Support best practice and keep up to date with regulatory guidelines with a view to transferring methods into a regulated environment to be used under GLP and GMP regulations
  • Identify critical project-related issues and successfully implement plans to overcome them to ensure the achievement of goals/milestones.
  • Read scientific literature and keep up with the new trends and techniques related to role

You Ideally you’ll have a PhD or equivalent industry experience where you’ve gained extensive experience and proficiency in PK Assays, cell biology, Immuno Assays, Flow Cytometry, In Vitro Cell activation assays, ADCC, CDC, ADCP, Cell Culture, Analysis and purification of primary murine and human immune cells and immunological phenotyping.

You’ll have proven experience in a small team designing and optimising biological and immunological assays, extensive experience in structured assay design and a good track record of research outputs.
