Position: Research Scientist/Senior Scientist – Antibody Selection and Engineering

A leading Biotechnology Company are currently expanding their Antibody Selection and Engineering department and looking to recruit a motivated Research Scientist or Senior Scientist to join the team.

The Role

As the Research Scientist / Senior Scientist you’ll have high level practical skills and technical knowledge specific to your areas of responsibility in Antibody Selection and Engineering and will be expected to deliver projects against agreed plans and quality targets. You’ll maintain expected levels, both personally and in the team of laboratory practices, record keeping and HSE standards.

Responsibilities

• Antibody Selection using Phage Display and/or other in vitro display systems
• Antibody Screening and characterisation using ELISA and Alphascreen, HTRF, Affinity determination (BIAcore, Octet) and protein stability assays
• Next Generation sequencing for antibody repertoire mining for monitoring selections
• Managing direct reports at Senior Scientist level

You

Ideally, you’ll have a PhD with significant employment experience within a similar role. You’ll be experienced in Antibody Selection and characterisation and be confident in antibody selection using phage and/or other in vitro display systems.

Experience in Mammalian cell culture including cell line maintenance, transfection, selection, cloning and Analytical flow cytometry (FACS) is also desirable.
