Position: Research Scientist – Molecular Discovery and Engineering

A leading Biotechnology Company are looking to recruit exceptionally talented, highly creative and motivated scientist to join the Discovery and Engineering team.

The Role

As the Research Scientist in Molecular Discovery and Engineering you’ll contribute your expertise and innovative outlook to problem solving in order to help the company achieve its challenging goals. You’ll join an active drug discovery programme and will be involved with:

• Humabody Engineering in Bi-specific/multi-specific format
• Formatting, expression and purification of VH constructs for analysis
• Isolation and analysis of Humabody VH fragments using in vitro display techniques from libraries derived from transgenic mouse platform
• Development and use of a variety of screening assays to identify candidate drugs

You

Ideally, you’ll have a BSc, MSc or PhD in a relevant subject and proven experience working with the following techniques; Molecular Biology (mRNA extraction, cDNA Preparation, PCR, Mutagenesis, cloning, expression and purification of recombinant proteins in E.coli or Pichia pastoris, antibody sequence analysis) and Display Technology (Phage, Yeast or ribosome Display)

Experience in Immunoassays including high-though put screening, Cell culture including cell lines and primary cells and tools such as Octet, BIAcore or FACS.
