Position: Research Scientist – Molecular and Cell Biology

Location: Cambridge

A leading Biotechnology Company are looking to recruit Research Scientists in Cell and Molecular Biology to join the growing team.

The Role

As the Research Scientist you’ll join an active drug discovery programmes and can expect to be involved with a broad range of different activities but particularly:

  • Building Phage libraries derived from transgenic mouse platform
  • Phage Display; isolation of lead Humabody VH; Lead optimisation
  • Vector Design and construction, transfection of mammalian cells, protein production
  • Generation of clonal cell lines with constitutive or inducible transgene expression
  • Engineering of custom cell lines
  • You’ll also be expected to be proactive in contributing previous experience to reviewing and driving process optimisation

You

Ideally, you’ll have a BSc, MSc or PhD in a relevant subject and proven experience of Molecular Biology e.g. RNA Extraction, cDNA  preparation, Cloning, PCR, Mutagenesis, genomic DNA Extraction, genotyping, protein purification, Western Blot, Cell Culture and excellent sterile techniques.

Industry experience in Phage Display, selection and screening, Antibody sequence analysis, flow cytometry and genetic manipulation of cells in vitro would be desirable.
