Position: Research Associate – Protein Sciences

Location: Cambridge

The Role

 

As the Research Associate in Protein Sciences you’ll play a key role in the continuous advancement of the Immune oncology platform and contribute to drug discovery and development. The role is largely lab-based working under supervision of the senior scientist and you’ll be responsible for protein purification, characterisation, filtrations and sterility testing of antigens, antibody fragments and bi-specific mAb2 Molecules.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform protein purification by a variety of chromatographic techniques using AKTA system.
  • Perform downstream protein characterisation, filtrations and sterility testing.
  • Generate high quality results within the expected timelines. Research should be consistent and thorough.

 

You

 

Ideally you’ll have a BSc or MSc in a relevant subject and gained some experience working in a similar role within the Biotechnology industry in protein purification using AKTA system (antibody purification, ion exchange, affinity chromatography, IMAC)

 

You’ll have experience in protein characterisation (HPLC, SDS-PAGE, endotoxin level testing), protein expression using mammalian cell systems (KEK293 and CHO) and demonstrate basic knowledge of technical principles, processes and concepts related to therapeutics antibody generation and the development of antibodies as therapeutic drugs.
